Appointment and Privileges

879-3229

Temporary Privileges:  You may be granted temporary privileges by the President and CEO upon recommendation from your Division Chief and the Credentials Committee at which time you can begin practicing.   Your privileges will remain temporary until your application has been reviewed by the Medical Executive Committee and Board of Trustees.  This process is usually completed within six weeks from the date of your Credentials Committee interview.

Appointment:  Your official appointment will be granted by the Board of Trustees for a period not to exceed two years.  During the first two years, your appointment will remain provisional.

Reappointment:  As a member of the Medical Staff, you will be reappointed every two years.  Since we are held to a strict standard of timeliness for reappointment, we start the procedure seven months before your current appointment expires in order to assure the completion of the process by the end of the two year period.  There is a description of the reappointment process in Article 5-4 of the Medical Staff Bylaws.

For more information, please contact the medical Staff Manager at 879-3229.
