Dues are collected from all members of the Medical Staff on an annual basis. As a member of the Active or Associate Staff, your dues will be $150 or if you are a member of the Courtesy Staff, your dues will be $100.
Unless specifically exempted by the Division Chief, Department Chief or designee, members of the Active, Associate and Courtesy Staff are required to participate in the on-call roster. When on call, you will be expected to respond within 30 minutes.
For podiatric admissions, you need to co-admit with a MD or DO member of the Mercy Medical Staff.
Consults are made through physician-to-physician contact, but may also be requested by a physician extender, an intern, or a resident on behalf of an attending physician, as long as the need for and purpose of the consultation has already been directly discussed with the attending physician. Consultations are addressed in Section 3-8 of the Medical Staff Rules and Regulations (at the back of the Bylaws).
