Infection Control

The Infection Control Department is responsible for the planning, organization, management and evaluation of the Mercy Hospital and Health System's Infection Control Program.

The department assures that Mercy Hospital and Health System is in compliance with current infection prevention and control regulations as they relate to Healthcare Acquired Infection (HAI) or nosocomial infections in patients and personnel through:

  • Surveillance
  • Analysis
  • Reporting
  • Follow-up
  • Prevention

The offfice provides consultation and education to all Mercy Hospital and Health System associates, employees and Medical Staff in the interpretation of relevant regulations and standards.  This department does not provide clinical services.   All of the Infection Control policies can be located on-line on the Mercy Intranet under Interdepartmental policies.

The Infection Control Specialist is Patricia Ryback, RN, CIC.

The office is located on B1, next to the Medical Record Department.
