McAuley Residence

McAuley Residence is a transitional housing program for women, with or without children, in crisis. In addition to offering support, shelter, and safety, we encourage women to commit to making a permanent, life long change to better themselves and their children. Our goal is to help women develop the skills they need for self-sufficiency.

Women can apply directly or through referrals from domestic violence shelters, substance abuse programs, and other community agencies.

Requirements
The women who come to McAuley Residence must:

  • be at least 21
  • have the desire, the ability, the psychological stability and the resolve to work on the goals that will help them become self-sufficient after their residency (up to two years)
  • have been drug and alcohol free for at least six months.
  • be able to pay 30% of their monthly income for rent (one-third of that amount is saved for each individual to cover future housing costs)

Accommodations
There are six small apartments, each with a bedroom, living room, kitchen, and bath. A family room, children's playroom, backyard and laundry facility provide common space to help create a sense of community.
